A Figment Of The Imagination is an open-ended experiment with visual and technological poetry.

Children often use narratives or pretend play in order to exercise their imagination. When children develop fantasy they play at two levels: first, they use role playing to act out what they have developed with their imagination, and at the second level they play again with their make-believe situation by acting as if what they have developed is an actual reality that already exists in narrative myth. Adults tend to rely on their senses and spend less time at the realm of the imagination.

Tal & Omer capture the viewer’s imagination by presenting imaginary creatures in an imaginary space, playing with the deformation of perception of human bodies that over time evolve and renew. Losing their humanity in the process of abstraction. At the end, new life forms are revealed within a new world that surprises the eyes, minds and hearts of the viewers. By observing this gradual process of metamorphosis, the artists wish to reveal the visitors’ behavior adjusted to the new situation.

Tal & Omer strive for unique aesthetic qualities that echo the visual feel and futuristic attributes of their distorted figments of their minds, inevitably defining the way the subjects (characters) present themselves in an almost theatrical exhibitionism.
